Flame lamination
KÖBA-Sewifa GmbH can process material up to a width of 200 cm on two flame lamination plants. Here, a polyurethan foam on the basis of polyester or polyether is inflamed with about 1,000°C on one or both sides.
On doing so a sticky melt is produced which provides a homogeneous connection between the upper material – usually a textile, a film or another flexible article – and the foam.
Additionally, the material can be provided with a backlining (e.g. charmeuse, non-woven fabric or adhesive film) on its back side in one work process.
These composite materials are used in the automotive industry as seat cover fabrics, side wall covering and/or headliners.
Laminated goods are also delivered to the medical engineering, as insulation material and for a lot of other, very special applications.
